XCLUSIVE! Stavento, Parios, Kiamos and more!!!

This week in XCLUSIVE! 

 All Hallows' Eve is nearly upon us and no doubt there will a fright or two this week, but for now let's forget the tricks and focus on the treats! And boo-y do I have the latest lowdown on all your favourite Greek Artists! 

First up, a surprising collaboration… GFR (Greek Friendly Rapper) Stavento, is hooking up with legendary Greek crooner Giannis Parios to create an epic cinematic ballad “Paidi Monoxo”. It begins with a simple ‘music box’ melody that exudes childlike innocence and hope, before being juxtaposed with Parios’ powerfully deep dulcet tones that set the song alight. The initial tentative strings lead into soaring drones that add a darkness to the piece. It isn’t until more than three minutes in, that the hip-hop beat and scratching kicks in and Stavento does his thing– his rhythmic delivery fitting perfectly in the mould of the song rather than overtaking it. Written by Michalis aka Stavento himself, this is an impressive marriage of two very different styles that plays to both artists strengths - a beautiful timeless track that captivates from the first listen.

Fresh from live performances in Greece, Cyprus and London celebrating his greatest hits to date, Panos Kiamos is upping the ante in preparation for his soon to hit album release! The singer gave fans an exclusive sneaky peak of his upcoming collection of new material at Greek venue; Club 22, where he is currently in the middle of his winter season residency. As well as performing current single “Pos Tha Ti Vgalo”, Kiamos premiered new tracks “Plexame” and “Se Horizo”. A nine minute album preview has also been uploaded online this week to give a taster of Panos’ latest musical effort. 

The new album “Apo Asteri Se Asteri” will delight fans with 18 new tracks and gets its official release on Friday 30th October. Can’t wait!

Also keeping fans happy with an Autumn single release is Nikos Oikonomopoulos. The singer unveils the soulful “An Ponas” while Konstantinos Argiros opts for an up-tempo laiko entitled “To Taxidi Xsekinaei”, which I'm willing to wager, will win over the charts in no time!

XCLUSIVE! New Music from Anna Vissi, Giannis Ploutarhos and Sakis Rouvas!

This week in XCLUSIVE! 

Cypriot superstar Anna Vissi has premiered the first single from her upcoming new album, teaming up with old flame Nikos Kavelas once again on her latest musical effort. The new track “Gia Sena”, takes things back to basics; a big piano power ballad full of drama, showcasing the voice that has made Vissi one of the most successful female solo stars in the Greek music scene, for over four decades. 

The revered singer is also set to embark on a series of winter performances in Athens at “Hotel Ermou” which will see her revisiting past hits as well as performing new material, and also covering songs from artists ranging from Sotiria Bellou to Amy Winehouse. The excited chanteuse couldn’t hide her delight: “I am really happy that this year I will be able to do the type of live performances I have always dreamt about doing…” Vissi’s new album is due for release in November.

 Things have been a little quiet in the Giannis Ploutarhos camp, but all that is set to change! Ploutarhos has now signed to record company Heaven, and has been working with hit producer Foivos, who has also recently returned to the label. A short teaser of the track “Mia Kalispera” has been unveiled online and provides fans with a mini morsel to enjoy and get their first taste of this new collaboration. 

Aside from this, Ploutarhos has also recently recorded a traditional folky love song entitled “Erhomai” which will feature on the soundtrack to the movie remake “O Klearhos, H Marina Kai O Kontos”. Giannis has definitely arrived!

 Sakis Rouvas is certainly feeling the love this year and has no trouble keeping his female fans swooning, further cementing his chart prowess with this year’s sexy serenades “Radiofono” and “Fila Me”. 

Following on from this success, Rouvas is preparing to premiere his next single “Duo Theoi”. With only a 16 second teaser video clip doing the rounds at the time of press, there’s not much to go on but first impressions are of an upbeat, ethnic-vibed and uplifting song, no vocals from Sakis but there are some neighing horses providing backing…

 Confused? Me too! I guess we’ll just have to wait a few more days to find out exactly what Sakis has in store with his latest musical treat!

XCLUSIVE! Mariah x MAC, New Kiamos Album, Pegky Zina

 Singing superstar Mariah Carey is arguably as well known for her vocal gymnastics as she is for her stint as Mrs Santa Claus; who doesn’t recall her festively fabulous video for love ditty "All I Want For Christmas Is You"? And this Xmas Mariah is adding a little something extra on Santa’s list. The pop icon has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to create a holiday-themed lipstick in a sparkly champagne shade, naturally called "All I Want". Mariah has described the hue as a "beautiful champagne shimmer" that she created to flatter many skin tones. 

If that’s got you excited then you’ll be a very happy bunny (or should I say elf?) to hear that the full Mariah x MAC Beauty Icon collection is coming later in 2016. MAC Creative Director James Gager enthused: "Mariah exudes elegance, glamour, sophistication, and a sense of fun. Her 'All I Want' lipstick is the perfect frosty holiday shade and her Beauty Icon collection will be everything you think of when you think MAC and Mariah."

It’s not long now until Greek singing star Panos Kiamos will be hitting our shores for his first ever UK concert! On Sunday 11th October the laiko/pop singer will performing live at the London Forum and treating fans to a night of his greatest hits and hopefully a few neebies too! This week saw brand new track “Pos Tha Tin Vgalo” hit the digital airwaves; a heartfelt ballad showcasing Panos’ warm tones and vulnerable side, composed by Nikos Gritsis and Giorgos Sampanis. 

The new single provides a taster of Kiamo’s highly anticipated new album set for release in a few weeks time, courtesy of Cobalt Music.
