The sun is shining this spring and, keeping our fingers firmly crossed, we cautiously store our brollies away. But whatever the weather it’s time to let loose and indulge in this week’s Xclusives!

 The London Cypriot community is teeming with fantastic creative talent not least in music! One such voice to look out for is soulful songstress Maria Evangelou, who you may recall was interviewed for ‘Xclusive’ back in March. 

Over the weekend the up and coming vocalist dazzled local music aficionados with her acoustic trio at Enfield’s impressive Forty Hall Estate with “an evening of jazz”, comprising of well-loved classics such as ‘Summertime”, “Feeling Good” and “Fly Me To The Moon”, as well as original material co-written by the singer herself and keyboardist Michael Hyman. It is her dulcet lower vocal range that really impresses and along with her chic retro look, transports the audience to another time; paying homage to soul singers of yesteryear.  If you fancy a traditional Greek night of good food, fun and music then an evening with well known musicians Nikos Savvides and George Gregoriou is just what you need! New Music

 Mr cool Giorgos Mazonakis returns this month with a fab new song “Exo Perasai Heirotera” (composed by Dimitris Fakou); a mid-tempo pop/rock song with an added urban flavour that is instantly infectious from the first listen. As well as preparing for his latest album release this autumn, the popular performer recently commenced his weekend bouzoukia residency at music venue ‘Fantasia’ in Athens as of the 16^th May, sharing the stage with edgy Greek singer Paola.  

 Meanwhile Vegas vocalist Melina Makri is stepping out alone with her debut solo single “An Ftanei” to get you up and dancing this summer. However, the bands fans needn’t worry of a split as the solo venture will be featuring on Vegas’ new album, due for release in the coming months.
